The clamor for more Nigerian born players to be co-opted into the Super Eagles set up reached a crescendo when Ghana and Senegal successfully adopted foreign born players into their squads which yielded tremendous results and improvement in the overall quality of their play.
9jafooty.blogspot.com combed Europe and other parts of the world for players with Nigerian blood who are eligible for any of our national teams. The list contains players who are either born in Nigeria, but bred abroad or have a Nigerian parent. In a four part special, 9jafooty.blogspot.com brings you some of the talented Nigerian-born players abroad who can do the business for Nigeria at different levels.

(Born 5 February 1987), Chinedu is of German and Nigerian parentage, he was born in Berlin, Germany, he began his career at Berlin Ak 07 and was later scouted by Hertha Berlin, he left after a couple of seasons to join MSV Duisburg, where he played before rejoining Hertha in 2011. Ede is a robust centre forward cum attacking midfielder who is comfortable on the ball and packs a good shot. He has represented Germany at Youth level and played at the UEFA U21 championship in 2009. He hasn’t shut the door close on Nigeria yet and its left to the NFF to take the necessary steps.
CARL IKEME

Carl Ikeme is an Anglo-Nigerian goalkeeper currently on the books of relegated premiership side Wolves, but on loan at Doncaster Rovers . Born on the 8th June 1986, he has had a nomadic journey in his football career spanning nine clubs. he is blessed with tremendous ball handling, he has not had the opportunity to play regular first team football. It is clear Vincent Enyeama needs more competition in the Super Eagles, Ikeme who is 6'2 can provide that needed competition.Despite his English birthplace, he has chosen to represent Nigeria at international level. He has been called up to the Super Eagles squad but has not yet made any appearances
FUNSO OJO

Funso Ojo is a Belgian -Nigerian who is currently registered with PSV Eindhoven in the dutch Eredivisie. but loaned to VVV Venlo. He is a defensive midfielder who can also play in central defence or at right back. Born 28 August 1991 in Antwerp, Belgium. Funso has played fro Belgium at school boy and U21 level, still eligible to play for Nigeria can come through the age grade teams as he has the potential to be a star in the near future
