2013/2014 Nigerian summer transfers..... so far

The European summer transfer window use to be one full of excitement for Nigerians in the years 

past as big money moves was the usual tiding. Augustine 'Jay Jay' Okocha's $17 million move to PSG

 a couple of years ago was the icing on the cake.

Unfortunately, that trend has declined tremendously as Nigerian players are not the usual hot

 commodity that they were back then. This might be attributed to a lot of factors that has dragged

 Nigeria's football light years back.

However, the recent African Nation's Cup triumph in 2013 should hopefully highlight the abundance 

of talent in Nigeria and also make the player's much more appreciated unlike the previous years.

The 2013-2014 European transfer window opened officially on the 1st of July and so far there has

 been movement by Nigerian players across Europe and the globe albeit not a much as we would

 have expected.

The bulk of the home based players that played at the Africa Cup Of Nations in South Africa and the

 Confederations Cup in Brazil are expected to make the transition before the window closes
