Eagles World Cup kits unveiled





Nigeria's preparation for the World Cup took another positive step as the jerseys and other gear that is to be used by the Super Eagles at Brazil 2014 were officially launched in Abuja on Thursday.

At a well attended ceremony at the Sunday Dankaro House Headquarters of the Nigeria Football Federation, the unveiling attracted a lot of bigwigs in the sports fraternity in Nigeria that included members of the federation and officials from the sports ministry




Midfielder Shehu Abdullahi was ecstatic about the kits and feels it will bring luck to the Super Eagles when they kick off their campaign at the World Cup.

"I like the texture and design, especially the green trimmings. It feels nice on my skin," Abdullahi, who modeled the away kit , revealed to supersport.com

"It will be nice to win our first match with the new kit against Mexico so that we can continue in that stead as we head towards the World Cup.

"I also hope it will bring us luck in Brazil. We want Nigerians to continue to support and pray for the national team."he added.

Design & Aesthetics

The new jersey, created by German leading sportswear manufacturer, Adidas was described as "the Nigeria 2014 World Cup Home Shirt is based on the new Adidas Condivo 14 Kit template, which is also used for several other national teams.


The new Nigeria 2014 World Cup Home Kit comes with a lighter new green color compared to recent kits made by Adidas, making the kit color similar to the bright green color used in the 1990s.

On the front of the new Nigeria 2014 World Cup Kit feature small darker green pinstripes, while the sleeves are divided in one light green and one dark green part.

The Adidas stripes on the sleeves are white, while on the back under the collar features the lettering Nigeria. The V-collar features both green colors, similar to the sleeve cuffs."


The reverse away jersey is an all white shirt and shorts combo that has dark and light green accents and is in all white, while the socks is in an light green-white combinations.

The new jerseys were modeled by goalkeeper Chigozie Agbim, Ejike Uzoenyi and Shehu Abdullahi where were decked in the home and away kits, while Agbim decked the goalkeepers strip.

Nigeria will play in Group F of the Brazil 2014 World Cup against Argentina, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Iran.
