Eagles have to fly again

 After the first two matches of the Group A of the Afcon 2015 qualifiers, Nigeria picked a solitary point out of a possible six.
This hasn't gone down well with a lot of Nigerian who feel a 3-2 reversal in the hands of Congo in Calabar and a goalless draw in Cape Town doesn't reflect a form typical of defending champions.

Flora Bukolami gives her five cents on what needs to be done if Nigeria wants to make headway when the next batch of qualifiers comes around
Her take;

By now coach Stephen Keshi will have seen reasons why he will have to do away with some players in the Super Eagles..

The coach is loyal to some players but unfortunately his loyalists refused to make him proud in Calabar and Cape Town respectively
Again, I must add that his (Keshi's) ego and greed has cost the football loving nation a lot in recent time.
Stephen Keshi claimed he was trying to build a team when he won the 2013 Afcon in South Africa, yet the same team failed to make us proud at the Confederations Cup in Brazil in 2013

The Super Eagles also played a couple of friendlies (didn't win  any of them) before they proceeded to Brazil 2014 where the team was knocked out by France due to their inability to play together as a team
I believe some drastic measures have to be taken in the team and I suggest thus;

This might sound like a panic situation, but coach Keshi should throw the gate open for all the players that are ready to play for Nigeria
Elderson Echiejile and Efe Ambrose need serious competition, they need to fight for their shirt

Oboabona Godfrey and Kenneth Omeruo need to do more communicating with each other in the heart of our defence because that cost us the second
goal against Congo

The midfield is where Nigeria's main problem is , I suggest Kelechi Iheanacho, Lukman Haruna, Sunday Mba must be called up to the team.

Mikel Obi needs bench time to get a wake up call.Ogenyi Onazi also needs to work on his tackling he gives away unnecessary fouls  like he did against Congo in Calabar

Ikechukwu Uche must be called back to the team

The team needs a creative midfielder, a player that can pick out the strikers easily.

 The strikers has been so frustrated in their last 6games because the midfielders haven't done much supplying them the required passes, as such most times you find Emmanuel Emenike dropping deep to collect balls instead of being in an advanced position when the midfielders
bring the ball forward.

Ahmed Musa needs to know how to utilize his speed whether through the flanks or the middle, he needs to also work on his delivery of crosses.

Lastly, the goalkeeping department too needs competition, because obviously Vincent Enyeama is the only dependable goalie will have for now. Femi Thomas, Chijioke Ejiogu, Ikechukwu Ezenwa should be given a look in.
