Giwa shock Rangers International in Enugu

Giwa shock Rangers International on home soil.

By Olowookere Oluwabusayo

It was a sad evening for about 3,000 Enugu Rangers fans who trooped out to the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu to cheer their darling team hoping that a home win will be recorded but they didn't reckon with Giwa FC and Shuaibu Ibrahim.

In a match the home side wanted to get a desired result after losing their last game to Gabros FC in their week 3 fixture before the league went on break, they came into the game fielding 6 new signings from the start.

After early exchanges, the Giwa boys settled early into the game with a mindset of not parking the bus but to come out and see if they can actually get a goal, but both sides gave nothing away as the first half ended goalless.

On resuming into the second half, the Enugu Rangers boys didn't look like they were up for the game and before they could settle in, Giwa FC had them on a hanger.

A quick counter from the Giwa boys led by Amos Danladi Gyang took on Pierre Coly before sending a low cross for Shuaibu Ibrahim to tap in pass goalkeeper Akor Itodo to send their fans and bench into wild celebration in the 50th minute

The home side sprung into action by throwing Chisom Egbuchulam, Emeka  Eze and Dada Bitrus in other to search for an equaliser which never came despite Odah Oniorode and Chinedu Udeagha hitting the post as Giwa held firm for the win.
