PLATEAU UNITED BOOSTS SQUAD WITH TWO NEW SIGNINGS.


Plateau United Football Club of Jos have further added flare into its attack ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League season by signing two new strikers.


The two acquisitions are former NPFL Highest Goal Scorer, Godwin Obaje who joined in from Ifeanyi Ubah Football club and Thompson Ezekiel formerly of Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure.

Sources from the club say Obaje signed a one-year loan deal while Ezekiel signed a three-year contract after successfully negotiating with the management of the peace boys in Jos on Thursday.


While Thompson Ezekiel has been training with the 2017 champions for two weeks now, Obaje will formally begin training with the club on Monday next week.

The new signings are expected to add more firepower to the team's attack which also includes the likes of veteran Kabiru Umar, Hamzat Owolabi, Saidu Salisu and Akila Jesse.

Obaje will be reuniting with his former coach, Abdul Isa Maikaba who recently joined Plateau United from Akwa United on a three-year contract as the club's new Head Coach.


In the meantime, Plateau United continue with their preparation ahead of the new season with a convincing 3-0 victory over Jazzy Stars of Jos in a friendly played at the new Jos stadium.

Ibeh Johnson, Joshua Obaje and new signing, Bernard Ovoke all registered their names on the goalscorers sheet which was dominated by the peace boys.

Chief coach of the team, Audu Isah Pele who is currently presiding over the team in the absence of the Head Coach, Abdu Maikaba who is on national assignment with the U20 national team, the Flying Eagles, expressed satisfaction with the performance of his players and urged them to step up the tempo.

The 2017 champions are expected to play another friendly with a Jos selected side on Saturday morning at the New Jos Stadium.
