Video: JS Saoura vs Enugu Rangers (1-1)

So you must have heard by now (except you live under a rock that Enugu Rangers held Algerian side JS Saoura to a 1-1 draw in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. Good game by Rangers but the real work is next week when the second leg takes place in Enugu. I hope coach Imama and the boys can do us proud. By the way, if they scale this hurdle they will have Egyptian side Zamalek to deal with. Here are the highlights

FIVE THINGS WE LEARNED FROM NPFL MATCH DAY 7

Image
With four teams ( Enugu Rangers, Rivers United, Wikki Tourist and Fc IfeanyiUbah) all having continental Engagement this weekend, we witnessed week 7 of the 2016/2017 season as Plateau United extend their lead at the top of the table. Here, Deji Ogeyingbo takes a look at five things we learned: PLATEAU UNITED ARE SAVING UP FOR THE DAYS OF FAMINE. It wasn't commanding, neither was it a dominant display from Plateau United in the 2 nil win over El-Kanemi Warriors but like they say in, the most important statistics in football is the result of the match at the end of the day. They still really need to get a creative midfielder who can give them another alternative when the goals dry up( especially from the ones resulting from Daniel Itodo's long throw in's). Like we know in the NPFL, there would come a time when you would have bad patches. God bless you if you haven't racked up some points during your purple patch as a team. Good thing is United are doing just th

5 TALKING POINTS FROM THE PLATEAU UNITED VS EL-KANEMI GAME. JOHN GA'ADI IS NOT THAT BAD After manning the goal for the 6th time this season with deputy Dele Ajiboye still on sabbatical, the journey man seems to have gradually settled into the team keeping his 3rd clean sheet of the season. He was calm in goal and wasn't his (usual) jittery self. Dele Ajiboye might has well begin to go get a place on d bench when he comes back. PHILLIP AZANGO NEED TO BE MORE IMPOSING He's nimble footed, skillfull, powerful and has got guile.but all these attributes are useless (forgive my language ) if AZANGO cannot impose himself throughout 90mins in a game. The best of wingers in world football are usually consistent for a long period and not just patches in a game. For the first time in an home game, he was substituted and this can only mean something, Kennedy Boboye has also noticed it to. KENNEDY BOBOYE NEEDS A CREATIVE MIDFIELDER After 7 matches played, plateau United have

Cameroon ’s victory at the just concluded Africa Cup of Nations has thrown up a fresh look at how things may pan out in Group B of the World Cup qualifiers. The  Super Eagles  and Indomitable Lions will play back-to-back games against each other on August 28 and September 2, 2017, when the qualifiers resume late in the year. Prior to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations,  Cameroon  was sitting second in the group with two points from two games. The Lions drew 1-1 with Algeria before being held 1-1 at home by the Chipolopolo of Zambia.
