Newly signed KAA Gent winger Moses Simon was in the news for the wrong reasons on Wednesday night during Gent's 1-0 win over Lokeren in the Belgian Cup.

Simon, who moved to the Jupiler Liga team from Slovakian side AS Trecin was sent off barely seconds after coming unto the pitch as a substitute.

This was his second official game for the team and he will be happy Gent eventually won the game.

The 19 year old was thrown into the fray by coach Hein Vanhaezebrouk in the 69th minute of the game to add more pace to the Gent attack, but he was shown a straight red 30 seconds later for a dangerous tackle on Lokeren's Jordan Remacle.

Gent , down to ten men, held on for the win as Simon will have to serve out his first suspension in Belgian football.

Simon earned a move to Gent from modest Slovakian side AS Trecin after turning in 18 goals in 37 games for the Slovak side impressing in Trecin's Europa League tie  against Hull City which they lost.
